When a Lie is Better Than the Truth
One of the most intriguing finding in medical science is called placebo effect. The Free Dictionary define placebo as “any dummy medical treatment; originally, a medicinal preparation having no specific pharmacological activity against the patient’s illness or complaint given solely for the psycho-physiological effects of the treatment.” Most interestingly the placeboes or the dummy medicines are often found to be as effective as the actual medicines in treating the ailment of a person. The best thing about use of the placebo is that they have no side effect as they have no harmful chemicals in it.
